Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian born actress. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film for which she received the British Academy Television Award as the Best Actress. French, German English and Romanian are the most spoken languages. Her mother was a violinist, Her father is a theatre professor at one of the best Romanian theater schools. "The Youth Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. In 2008 the European Film Promotion Board recognized her as a European Shooting Star. Alongside her impressive performance in her debut movie The actress will remain in the memory of her part in the Romanian film "4 months 3 weeks 2 days" which earned her many prizes, including the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. She was the lead in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 luni 3 saptamani e 2 days" (4 3 Weeks, 4 Months and 2 Days) which won her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also won two additional awards: The Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. Additionally, she was a child in Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she played Yasim Anwar in the BBC 5-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role in her role in the Romanian drama Boogie and in Oliver Hirschbiegel's critically popular Five Minutes of Heaven. Later she was the role of Irma's German grandmother in Fury the film, which came out in 2014.
